So at a time when my team Everton seem to be doing their utmost to ruin Christmas for me this year, I can always rely on those boys across the park to cheer me up with their equally appalling performances this season. And what makes their plummet all the better to enjoy is that all of those deluded Liverpool fans from last season have gone a little quiet.

 If you cast your memory back to the 2013/14 season, the media were pretty much slobbering over the prospect of Liverpool winning the league, whilst real football fans couldn't imagine anything worse than having to watch Luis Suarez and co get their hands on the Premier League trophy after having to put up with deluded sentences such as 'It's going to be our year' over and over again.

But of course it wasn't to be, much to our delight and the guys over at YNFA.net who caught the mood of most football fans with their brilliant and hilarious series of 'If Carlsberg did deluded commentators they'd be Liverpool fans' YouTube video clips as we all reveled in the plight of those deluded Kopites.

It all started with Steven Gerrard's now infamous 'We don't let this f***ing slip, we go again!' team talk after the Reds had beaten title rivals Man City 3-2...

But we all know that Stevie G's words came back to haunt him in the game against Chelsea although some Liverpool fans couldn't quite accept it...

Which led to a number of memorable and comical memes doing the rounds on the internet like this one...

But even then Liverpool fans remained deluded, even when Willian's second goal confirmed a 2-0 victory for Chelsea...

So of course it was on to Palace where everything was looking rosy until, well, you know...

You'd think they might have learned their lesson but seems like they're still as deluded as ever if this reaction to Phil Jagielka's late goal in the Merseyside derby this season is anything to go by...

And even the sniff of silverware in the Capital Cup didn't quite go according to plan in the semi-final draw...

This week the Liverpool FC marketing team went into overdrive when they posted this rather embarrassing football movie mash-up to promote their upcoming pre season tour to the United States. Even as an Everton fan I feel a little sorry for Steven Gerrard; the scars of England's World Cup group stage exit is still fresh in the memory and they welcome their captain home with a task like this. Unlucky Stevie lad!

But after seeing this I decided to trawl the wonderful world wide web to see what other fantastic football inspired movie posters are doing the rounds and I was pleasantly surprised to find quite a few! A big mention must go to those guys over at talkSPORT who were responsible for a fair share of these hilarious images. 1. Luis Suarez
Where else could we start without the king of internet soocer meme's?! There were simply too many to show on this page but these four were my particular favourites: Biteback Mountain, Luis Suarez Gets The Munchies, A Uruguayan Werewolf in Liverpool and Bite Club.

2. David Moyes

Poor old Davey Moyes got his fair share of flack following his first and only season in charge of Manchester United that the movie 1 Year a Manager probably would have been a box office flop too, and I doubt that the Class of '14 will be remembered with quite the same affection as those lads from 1992.

3. Andre Vilas Boas

Another manager who got the photoshop treatment after things didn't quite go according to plan was AVB after his unsuccessfil stint in charge of Chelsea. Get Chelsea and The Shining had Stamford Bridge shaking in their boots!

The Liverpool legends final brush with management was bittersweet as he was criticised for a number of his decisions including agreeing to pay £35m for Andy Carroll. Some might say he was The Delusionist.

10. Ron Atkinson

Last but by no means least we have Ron Atkinson starring in Ron for no other reason than it rhymes with Tron. And that is good enough for me!

The real reason Luis Suarez is leaving Liverpool

Luis Suarez is legging it from Stevie Gerrard and Liverpool

Luis Suarez has once again reiterated his desire to leave Liverpool Football Club. In recent weeks the controversial Uruguayan striker has cited press victimization as the reason behind his decision to quit Anfield.

Suarez is currently serving a lengthy ban for gnawing away at Branislav Ivanovic's arm at the end of last season, and he has said that if Real Madrid or Barceolna come knocking then Liverpool have to listen to their offers.

I have been quietly chuckling away to myself while this little saga has been going on. Not because I'm an Everton fan and can't wait to see the back of him, and it has nothing to do with the fact that Liverpool fans have blindly stuck by Suarez through the racism row and the biting ban and now he is throwing it back in their faces.

No, I'm allowing myself a sly giggle because I know the real truth behind Suarez's decision to quit Liverpool! The blaming of the British media is nothing more than a smokescreen to cover-up a very bad practical joke gone bad, and it all started with some classic David Brent-esque behaviour from one Brendan Rodgers...
