After that appearance, Great Comedy Nights promoter Alan Sellers said: "Steve always delivers, despite the fact that he is a relatively new addition to the comedy circuit. With great stage presence and excellent varied material, he would appeal to virtually any type of audience."
At the start of 2012, Steve made it through to the semi-final of the Next Big Thing talent contest at the London Excel, and has been busy writing the follow-up to his 2011 debut novel The Drought. Steve's brand of comedy combines witty observation with self-deprecating humour; incorporating tales of relationships, feeling old in his 30s, and encountering difficult situations on public transport!
This style of comedy shines through in his writing, and The Drought has been receiving excellent reader reviews on Amazon. Below is a video clip from Steve's October 2011 gig at Dirty Dicks bar in London, performing the material that got him a runners-up spot in the Golden Jester.
